Gila Schwartz is a therapist located on Long Island, NY. A psychologist focuses on the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional and behavioral health issues. A clinical psychologist uses psychotherapy and other counseling skills to improve emotional and mental health.
I have dedicated my career to helping children and young adults reach their fullest potential. With over 20 years of hands-on experience across clinical, educational, and neuropsychological settings, I provide compassionate, dignified care grounded in deep expertise. My training was shaped by leading scholars in neuropsychology, educational psychology, and behavior analysis. I trained in a neuropsychology lab at Stony Brook University, became a licensed, board-certified behavior analyst, completed doctoral training at Southern Illinois University under Dr. Barbara Cordoni, and later completed postdoctoral re-specialization in clinical neuropsychology under Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg, specializing in pediatric and complex behavioral cases.
Therapy is a collaborative journey. Together, we’ll explore the patterns in your life, uncover your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you move forward with confidence. My approach blends evidence-based methods—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care—with a deep respect for your individual story and pace.
I believe therapy works best when it’s built on trust and partnership. You bring your experiences and willingness to grow; I bring my expertise, empathy, and professional training. Together, we create a safe, supportive space where real change can happen.
I specialize in helping adults with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, trauma, and complex trauma.
** My practice currently prioritizes clients in the Mid-Hudson Valley and those in direct service and helping professions, such as therapists, teachers, first responders, veterans, healthcare workers, and essential and frontline workers. **
I'm a trauma and EMDR therapist and LCSW licensed in New York and Connecticut, with eight years of experience rooted in crisis work. I've worked with families facing hardship and people in corporate and executive careers, and I have experience in disaster mental health and in critical incident stress management for first responders. I understand people under the highest levels of stress, both personally through my own experiences, and professionally.
I don't believe trauma has to be something we simply live with, or something that defines us. When we begin to understand our nervous system adapted to survive and what it needs to heal, we can help it learn something new. A self-regulation approach asks, "How do I calm myself down?" A capacity approach asks, "How can I build a nervous system that doesn't need to be calmed down every time life gets hard?" That second question is where I work.
I've been practicing in the mental health field for more than 4 years now. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and love using it with many different clients. I've found that DBT has also helped me on a personal level.
Alyssa Gallo, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor experience, working with teens and adults.
She specializes in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body-Focused
Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), providing compassionate, individualized care to support lasting growth and healing.
Alyssa takes a person-centered and collaborative approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBI) and Exposure ano Response Prevention (ERP to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. She believes that both the mind and body play an essential role in overall well-being and is committed to creating a supportive environment where clients feel empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
I am a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Clinical Social Worker, with over 10 years of experience, and I draw from mindfulness, person-centered, cognitive behavioral techniques. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
I'm Dan, a licensed mental health counselor with more than 10 years working with people across a wide range of concerns. My style is warm and casual, and clients consistently tell me I'm easy to talk with. I hold certifications in adolescent and substance abuse counseling and draw on multiple evidence-based approaches tailored to your specific needs. I believe everyone has the capacity for a happier, more fulfilling life, and I would be glad to be part of that journey with you.
