Hi, I’m Sam Lawson, and I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). I specialize in supporting women and parents through the emotional and mental health challenges that can arise during pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and other reproductive and hormonal transitions.
I bring more than a decade of experience in women’s health and have cared for families through pregnancy and birth. As a midwife, I attended more than 800 births, experiences that deepened my understanding of the profound physical, emotional, and identity changes that can accompany becoming a parent and moving through different stages of life.
My interest in mental health grew from seeing firsthand how closely emotional well-being is connected to reproductive and hormonal health. I have completed specialized training and certification in perinatal mental health, reproductive & integrative psychiatry, and menopause care.
I have been practicing 25 years. I have walked the path of life and its difficulties through lived experience
With over a decade of experience, I offer tailored therapy for diverse challenges: Disruptive Behavior, Parental Stress, LGBTQIA Support, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Relationships, Grief, Life Transitions, BIPOC Concerns, and Personal Growth. I use a holistic approach integrating Trauma-Informed Care, CBT, and Behavior Therapy. Let's work towards healing and growth together!

I moved to Colorado in 2010 to continue my quest for helping others. Many years ago, someone helped me and I having been giving back for more than 20+ years. Together, we will develop a comprehensive plan so that you can get the tools you need to help you reach your goals. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and for that I appreciate you. Hey, I'm Wes — and I'm glad you've landed here. I specialize in working with people (13+) and families. If you're having trouble navigating conflict, self-defeating behaviors, emptiness, numbing, anxiety, depression, lack of fulfilment or meaning, stress, anger, loneliness, relationship issues, low self-esteem, or questions of identity, I recommend you reach out. As a licensed professional counselor, I am here to explore what you are struggling with and explore ways to overcome life's difficulties, whatever they may be. I have acquired over 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, adolescents, and families through life's challenges. I have helped professionals and caregivers, through life's challenges, burn out, and the discovery of self-care. I have worked in education, research, correctional system, hospitals, and private practice.
Since seeing how the community health system hasn't worked for many in the Southwest, I want therapy to be accessible for my clients. So, I can come to you or my office or virtually! I am 1 of only a couple Spanish-speaking therapist in our region, so I work a lot with the immigrant community. Although I am not Latine, I have worked alongside the Latine community for over 10 years and it is a cultural home for me. Whether I am speaking English or Spanish, my personality still comes through. I also work in homelessness, so I'm comfortable with issues like housing insecurity, substance use, psychosis, suicidality & case management.
